Biography

Amedeo Arena is Full Professor of European Union Law at the University of Naples “Federico II” School of Law (est. 1224) and Visiting Fellow at the Alcide De Gasperi Research Centre. He was a Visiting Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, a Visiting Academic at Oxford University IECL and, under the auspices of the Leonardo da Vinci Prize, he visited Harvard Law  School and the NYU Jean Monnet Center. He holds LLM degrees from King’s College London and New York University and a PhD from the University of Naples “Federico II”.  He is the author of three research monographs,  a casebook, and over fifty contributions to edited books and peer-reviewed journals. His work has been cited by the EU Court of Justice (AG Bobek and AG  Szpunar), the Court of Appeal of England and Wales, the Portuguese Constitutional Court, and the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights.
