I am researcher at the department of Social and Political Science at the European University Institute and at the College of Art at the University of Edinburgh.
With a background in Social Demography (Stockholm University) and Sociology (Bologna University), my research interests cover social inequality and in particular gender inequality in the labour market and in the family.
In my current job, I investigate social inequality in the creative and cultural industries.
In my PhD dissertation, I investigated age differences between partners in Europe from the perspective of gender relations and family dynamics. In the past, I conducted research on family policy, sexist and non-sexist language, and the link between gender ideology and family desire.
Previously, I have been a visiting researcher at the New York University and the Vienna Institute of Demography. Additionally, in the Spring of 2017 I was a visiting lecturer at the university of Bologna, the University of Florence and the James Madison University in Florence.
