I have been a PhD Researcher in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at the European University Institute and defended my thesis in September 2019. In April 2019, I joined the Institute of Political Science at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg as post-doctoral research fellow in International Relations (IR).
My research centers on the comparative study of dynamics of state formation and state decay in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East; and the theory and practice of international state-building. Some of my research is published in International Affairs, European Journal of International Relations (EJIR), and the Journal of International Relations and Development (JIRD).
Before coming to Florence, I acted as lecturer with Bernhard Zangl at the Chair of Global Governance at the LMU Munich. I have obtained a MRes from the EUI, a MA Political Science (Magister Artium) from the LMU Munich, and a MA Philosophy (Magister Artium) from the Munich School of Philosophy S.J.
