Welcome to my homepage!

My name is Katharina Meissner, and I hold a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute. After having defended my PhD thesis in June 2016, I moved to the Institute for European Integration Research (EIF), University of Vienna, as Assistant Professor.

Prior to my PhD research, I obtained a Diploma in Political Science (MA equivalent) from the Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg, Germany, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies with distinction from the University of Otago, New Zealand. In 2013, I was awarded a Master of Research by the European University Institute.

Parts of my research have appeared in outlets such as the European Foreign Affairs Review, the Journal of Common Market Studies, the Journal of European Integration and Public Administration. Working at the intersection of European Union Studies and International Relations, my research interests include European Union external relations, International Political Economy and Regional Integration.
