Biography

I am a PhD Candidate at the European University Institute in Florence. My research is located at the intersection of International Relations, European Security and Defence Policy and Foreign Policy Analysis. I am particularly interested in military interventions, the establishment of peacekeeping operations and European security and defence cooperation. In my PhD thesis I examine when and in which format European states intervene militarily in humanitarian crises and civil wars.

Formerly, I worked at the European Union Institute for Security Studies in Paris, where I researched European and global defence spending patterns. I obtained a M.A. in International Relations from the University of Nottingham and a M.A. in International Administration and Conflict Management from the University of Konstanz.
