Azizjon Bagadirov is a political philosopher with an interest in sociology, critical theory, and ancient ethics. His research focuses on structural injustice, the mechanisms of its social reproduction, and its implications for human flourishing. His work was published in the Journal of Social Philosophy, Journal of Human Development and Capabilities, Acta Sociologica and other venues.

Currently he holds a postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt, working on a project on the structural and ideological formation of the self in the conditions of oppression. Prior to that, he was a Hannah Arendt Doctoral Fellow in Political and Social Sciences at the European University Institute in Florence, where he received his Ph.D. in 2024, and a Chevening Scholar at the University of Southampton.
