I am a PhD candidate in Law at the European University Institute. During my doctoral studies, I have also held teaching positions at the Florence School of Banking and Finance and visiting positions at the LSE Law School and Bocconi University’s Law Department. Before starting my PhD, I worked for four years as a junior associate at the international law firm Clifford Chance in Milan, specialising in private equity, real estate, and cross-border M&A transactions.

I study sustainable corporate governance at the intersection of company law and international political economy. My doctoral thesis explores why recent efforts to reorient corporate governance towards sustainability have fallen short of their ambitions. The empirical analysis covers legislative reforms, sustainability litigation, and changes in business practice. From a methodological perspective, I combine legal analysis with process tracing based on policy documentation and fieldwork, including semi-structured interviews with corporate managers, consultants, investors, and NGOs.

I hold a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Law from the University of Trento and an LLM in Comparative, European, and International Law from the EUI.
