I am a PhD Researcher in Law at the European University Institute (EUI). My research investigates comparative approaches to sexual deepfakes through the prisms of feminist jurisprudence, human rights law, and digital governance.

Outside of my academic work, I am an actively qualified human rights lawyer with practice experience advocating on behalf of vulnerable persons, civic organisations, and human rights defenders at risk in global contexts. My international work has focused on strategic human rights litigation and interdisciplinary interventions relating to the right to health, gender justice, slavery abolition, freedom of expression, and fair trial rights, including cases before the United Nations human rights mechanisms, Inter-American Court of Human Rights, and national constitutional and appellate courts. I also have experience working as a public defender and supporting civil rights litigation relating to conditions of confinement, police brutality, employment discrimination, and wrongful convictions in the United States.

Previously, I was the Michael and Mary Schuette Clinical Fellow in Health and Human Rights and an Adjunct Professor of Law affiliated with the Center for International Human Rights (CIHR) at the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in Chicago, where I supported community-based human rights projects globally through the Access to Health (ATH) Project, supervised clinical students, and lectured on human rights. I hold a Juris Doctor from DePaul University in Chicago, and I am licensed to practice law in the United States (Illinois Bar).
