I am a postdoctoral historian with a research focus on the history of diplomacy, and postwar British and German political history. This encompasses topics such as European Integration, the Cold War, national strategy, nuclear weapons and the influence of officials on the formulation of foreign policy.

I was a doctoral researcher in the Department of History and Civilisation from 2020-2025 and was supervised by Professor Federico Romero and Professor Corinna Unger. My doctoral research project: Bilateral Diplomacy, Anglo-German relations and the British applications to the EEC 1961-1973' was defended on 26 May 2025.

I currently am a guest lecturer at the University of Regensburg, teaching in the department of Anglistik. In the Autumn term of 2026 I will be teaching in the History Department of the University of Hong Kong.

I also have worked as an historical researcher for the Euratom Supply Agency in Luxembourg, and LSE Ideas/the Open University and the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. I was a co-convenor of the interdisciplinary Heritage History Working Group at the EUI from 2020-2023.

My doctorate focuses on the practice of diplomacy and visions of European Integration in relations between the United Kingdom and the Federal Republic of Germany during the British applications to enter the European Economic Community. My broader interests in the project lie in the intersection of European Integration, the development of Anglo-German diplomatic relations and the Cold War.

I previously studied at the University of Sheffield (BA History, 2016, MA Historical Research, 2018) where I received the 2018 William Carr Prize for funded research in Germany.
