Divison of Labour between Public Research Institutions, Biotech Start-Ups and Incumbent Firms
European University Institute, 29 February 2024

In an environment of profound technological uncertainty, research collaborations are essential to build bridges between basic, translational, and applied science. Medical biotechnology provides in this regard an important case study illustrating various forms of division of innovative labour between academic institutions, biotech start-ups, and large pharmaceutical manufacturers. Grateful to have had the opportunity to present my research on the technical, legal, and economic aspects of these collaborations at the European University Institute’s Research Cluster on the Crisis of Expert Knowledge and Authority on 29 February 2024.
Thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to the discussion of this important topic. For further details: https://www.eui.eu/events?id=564774
